Join Sunwater as Senior Model Technician – Testing, where you’ll play a vital role in developing test plans and processes plus data collection and processing for Physical Hydraulic Models. You will have an understanding of quality management systems, have experience managing data and be competent with analysis of data using excel, python etc. When required, the Senior Model Technician will also be required to assist with the construction of the Physical Models, with design, instrument installation and appropriate selection of materials.
As Senior Model Technician – Testing at Sunwater, you will:
- Develop model testing plans for each project in conjunction with design engineers.
- Lead the testing of various 2D and 3D Physical Hydraulic Models.
- Manage, store and process data outputs from the physical models.
In this unique position we are seeking a talented individual with a proven track record in developing testing procedures in a hydraulics laboratory environment. You will hold tertiary qualifications in engineering/science or similar field. You will also bring:
- Ability to Innovate: Seek to innovate and utilise new technologies for higher quality data and more efficient processes.
- Instrumentation experience: Ability to understand, install and operate various types of instrumentation with a high degree of proficiency, including Lidar, Velocity measurement (propellors, ADV’s, Pitot tubes), transducers etc.
- Attention to detail: Have a strong attention to detail and complete high quality safety related documentation for the laboratory (SLAMs, SWMSs, JSA’s etc.) and reporting hazards and near misses.
