Senior Geologist

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for geoscience and geological services excellence? Join Sunwater as our Senior Geologist where you will provide expertise in the planning, safe execution of, evaluating and reporting on geological investigations for water infrastructure projects.  The role also involves the mentoring and development of lesser experienced members of the Geology and Geotechnical team.  As the Senior Geologist at Sunwater, you will:-

  • Provide effective, detailed, state-of-the-art, geotechnical services for water related infrastructure which are high quality, economically viable and safe to undertake
  • Applying relevant ANCOLD guidelines and addressing technical considerations when undertaking geotechnical investigations for new and existing large dams
  • Managing consultants, and liaising with stakeholders to achieve required design outcomes
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of geotechnical engineering technology advancements, data acquisition techniques and methods of data management, to assist in the development of new systems, methods and geotechnical investigation procedures

 

We are seeking a talented individual with well-developed people management skills to successfully function independently or direct other geotechnical staff in the execution of projects as well as mentoring and coaching Geologists. You will be able to meet performance targets and be able to manage and contribute effectively to projects teams to enhance commercial performance.  You will also bring:

  • Excellent Communication skills:  Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including consulting, collaborating, negotiating and delivering complex written technical reports
  • Risk Management skills: Highly developed technical and risk management skills, with the ability to identify potential asset risks and make recommendations for mitigation strategies
  • Leadership skills: Bring thought leadership to the role to drive continuous improvement and a sustainable business environment for Sunwater, its customers and the wider community

 

This role offers salary from $141,112.92, 12.75% superannuation, 17.5% leave loading, career development and progression opportunities for all and a genuine emphasis on work/life balance, ensuring you are well-rewarded for your dedication and hard work.
