Instrumentation Technician

Work.

Due to an internal promotion, Sunwater are looking for an Instrumentation Technician our Mareeba team, where you’ll play a vital role in conducting day-to-day preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance of all Scada/electrical equipment. You will also provide fault analysis for Scada infrastructure assets managed by Sunwater and implement appropriate corrective solutions.  

As an Instrumentation Technician at Sunwater, you will:

  • Drive continuous improvement to the SCADA and communications networks within the region and provide SCADA training to operational staff.
  • Deliver the required or assigned outcomes against the weekly/fortnightly plan and communicate any changes in work priorities to the Scada Technician and/or Maintenance Coordinator
  • Ensure supply interruptions are minimised through effective response to emergency/breakdowns, fault-finding and analysis, and prevention of recurrence of the problems.

 

Please note that due to the nature of this role, there will be a 1 in 2 on-call roster.

 

We are seeking a talented individual with demonstrated technical skills in SCADA control systems. You will have a current unrestricted Queensland Electrical Work Licence, and have solid technical skills in instrumentation, PLC systems, SCADA, RTU’s, radio equipment and associated network equipment

You will also bring:

  • Electrical Trade/Instrumentation with experience in SCADA and Telemetry systems
  • Class ‘C’ driver’s license
  • Physically and otherwise capable of working at heights and in confined spaces
  • Proven ability to find/rectify faults and maintain Scada and electrical systems.
  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of low voltage and high voltage electrical equipment
  • High Voltage Switching Qualifications or the desire to obtain
