We are looking for a Logistics and Stores Coordinator to join our Mareeba team and play a vital role in supporting Sunwater’s operational delivery across Far North Queensland. In this hands‑on and highly impactful role, you will ensure our people have the materials, equipment and facilities they need to keep water flowing to the communities we serve.
You will oversee the coordination of stores, logistics and site facilities, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operations. Your ability to stay organised, anticipate needs and build strong working relationships will directly support our field teams and contribute to Sunwater’s commitment to safety, reliability and operational excellence.
This is an opportunity to bring your experience in logistics, warehousing, procurement or operational support into a role where your work truly matters. Key responsibilities include:-
- Manage facilities, stores and stock levels to ensure a safe, compliant and fit‑for‑purpose workplace.
- Maintain organised inventories of materials, PPE, equipment and critical spares, identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
- Oversee receipting, dispatch and goods handling processes, resolving issues and ensuring full chain‑of‑responsibility compliance.
- Coordinate logistics, including supplier engagement, pricing negotiations, deliveries, shipments and local collection runs.
- Ensure equipment, storage areas and handling practices meet manufacturer, legislative, safety and environmental requirements, including contractor‑managed maintenance.
- Support operational teams by aligning material supply with delivery timelines and contributing to sustainability initiatives such as waste management and recycling.
Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated technical knowledge of inventory and procurement management principles, a certificate 4 in Warehouse Operations, procurement or relevant experience aligned to the accountabilities of the role. You will have demonstrated skills in liaising and negotiating with vendors and suppliers to secure better pricing, establish planned stock provisions and coordinate delivery arraignments. Experience with SAP will be highly regarded.
This full time permanent role offers an array of attractive benefits including a base salary of $103,354, plus 12.75% superannuation, access to banked time and TOIL, 17.5% leave loading and a genuine emphasis on work/life balance.
