Work. Ready to shape the future of enterprise risk management at Sunwater? We are looking for an experienced Senior Risk and Compliance Advisor to join our team and play a key role in strengthening how risk is identified, managed and reported across the organisation. Working closely with operational leaders and subject matter experts, you will translate operational risks into meaningful enterprise-level insights, helping executives and the Board make informed decisions. This role requires more than theoretical risk knowledge, you will bring a practical understanding of how risk management frameworks are embedded into day-to-day operations and how they can drive better business outcomes.
In this full-time, permanent role, you will help uplift Sunwater’s enterprise risk capability by implementing and enhancing risk management systems, improving risk reporting and analytics, consolidating risk and control information, and supporting the development of a clear enterprise risk view. You will be a trusted conduit between the business and leadership teams, providing valuable insights, facilitating risk discussions, and ensuring risks are effectively communicated at all levels of the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide expert advice on enterprise risk, compliance and assurance matters, supporting effective risk management across the organisation.
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Sunwater’s Enterprise Risk, Compliance and Assurance Framework (ERCAF).
- Partner with stakeholders to identify, assess and manage risks, compliance obligations and assurance activities.
- Maintain enterprise risk and compliance registers, monitor risk appetite and control effectiveness, and ensure alignment with policies and frameworks.
- Prepare risk, compliance and assurance reporting for senior leadership, the Audit and Risk Committee, and the Board, escalating significant issues as required.
We are seeking a strong communicator with experience in risk, assurance or governance within a complex operational environment such as water, utilities, infrastructure, resources, heavy industry or government-owned corporations. You will have 5+ years experience in a similar role, degree in Business or another relevant discipline (or equivalent experience) and certification in CPRM, CCRP, CRMA or CIA will be highly desired.
Based in our Fortitude Valley office or a Sunwater regional office (subject to office availability), this full-time permanent opportunity is available for an immediate start. We offer a range of attractive benefits including a competitive base salary, 12.75% superannuation, 17.5% leave loading, a standard 38-hour week and a flexible hybrid work arrangement. Combined with our strong commitment to work/life balance, you'll have the flexibility and support to thrive both professionally and personally.
Come and join Sunwater and help strengthen the systems, insights and governance practices that enable us to deliver water for prosperity and support communities, industries and regions across Queensland.
