The role

The Information Manager works across the organisation and is responsible for the implementation and leadership of Sunwater’s Information Management strategy. The Strategy aims to deliver best practice digital content and information management, as well as drive an overall maturity uplift across the organisation.  The Information Manager will ensure all Sunwater information practices are in compliance with relevant legislation and standards.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and lead the implementation of the Information Management Strategy, to ensure Sunwater is both managing and leveraging value contained within all information assets.
  • Provide thought leadership to develop and implement a Sunwater Information Strategy, comprising governance, framework, policies, standards, procedures and guidelines, which provides guidance in all aspects of the Information Management for Sunwater and external delivery partners.
  • Review and maintain the existing Sunwater documents and record management framework, comprising policies, standards, procedures and guidelines, which provides guidance in all aspects of the document and records management lifecycle: capture, control, access, storage and disposal.
  • Implement processes and activities to monitor compliance to information management policies, and where necessary, drive activities to close compliance shortfalls.
  • Provide expert high-level advice to General Manager Information and Data Services on existing and potential information and data management related issues and risks.
  • Implement an education program, and provide expert knowledge, skills and advice regarding the structures, functionality and use of information management applications, as well as access to and the creation, capture, use, storage, disposal of records.

About you

We are looking for a dynamic individual who is looking for the next step in their career. Someone with Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or Information and Data Science. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • 10+ years of Information Management experience
  • Post- graduate (any discipline)
  • Experience working in a construction landscape
  • Practical experience in project management methodologies such as PMBoK and PRINCE2
  • Ability to influence and drive innovation across an organisation to deliver benefits, improvements and efficiencies
  • Desirable: knowledge of, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of the Queensland Government Records Act and associated policies, procedures, and records retention and disposal schedules
