The Health & Safety Advisors initial primary function will be to provide professional support to the enabling works packages of the Burdekin Falls Dam project, in relation to the management of health and safety risks, ensuring fit for purpose systems are embedded to provide optimal health and safety outcomes. This role will work closely with Sunwater’s Corporate Health & Safety team and plays an integral part of driving and delivering a safe work culture across the lifecycle of the project. You will:
- Facilitate the review and alignment of the OHS management system to ensure safe delivery of the enabling works packages and then ensuring they are fit for purpose upon the formation of an Alliance.
- Support delivery of contemporary health and safety management strategies, objectives, and targets in partnership with the project leaders.
- Assist and align health and safety performance monitoring and reporting.
We are looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years civil construction experience working in an Alliance or Joint Venture project environment, preferably holding tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline. You will also bring:
- SME expertise: Experience providing health and safety advice to project, planning and operational groups within the organisation to enable Sunwater projects to be efficiently undertaken with due regard to health and safety considerations.
- Passion for education: Educate, train and coach internal and external stakeholders in relation to health and safety risks associated with day-to-day operations and establish methods to mitigate those risks in practice.
- Communication skills: Excellent communication skills with a knack for writing and presenting quality reports and findings to senior leadership, including the Board and executive leadership team.
