Reporting to the Trade Coordinator, the Civil Works Supervisor is responsible for identifying, scheduling and delivering civil works and maintenance services for the business in our North Region. This will ensure the reliability and function of water storage and distribution assets to meet the standards of service expected by the business our shareholders and our customers.
As a Civil Works Supervisor at Sunwater, you will:
- Plan, supervise and deliver routine civil maintenance activities
- Prioritise, plan, and coordinate resources (staff, contractors, plant and materials) to achieve the efficient and cost-effective completion of works.
- Coordinate fault-finding and problem solving in relation to equipment breakdown/malfunction, analysing and resolving operational problems, and ensuring that supply interruptions resulting from equipment breakdowns/functions are minimised
- Coordinate and complete comprehensive vegetation management program including but not limited to the management of mowing and slashing contracted works and the application of herbicide
Please note due to the nature of this role, there will be a 1 in 2 on-call roster.
Sunwater are seeking individuals with experience in a similarly diverse civil maintenance role with well-developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills. You will also have sound knowledge of a range of computer applications, including Microsoft Office and electronic documents recording, with the ability to learn to use SAP-PM (database). Individual will also have high experience with contractor management and procurement expertise.
Other skills include:
- Diploma in Civil Construction Management and/or minimum 5 years relevant Civil Construction Management Experience.
- Heavy rigid vehicle license
- Class ‘C’ driver’s licence
- Relevant tickets to operate earthworks plant (excavator, skid steer, backhoe etc.)
- Experience and relevant qualifications to perform confined space entry, working at heights, excavation and Forklift tickets
