Senior Alliance Technology Advisor

Work. Are you interested in playing a pivotal role in enabling major infrastructure delivery through technology?  If you are, come and join Sunwater as our Senior Advisor Alliance Technology to help us deliver one of Queensland’s most significant infrastructure projects – the Paradise Dam Improvement Project – as part of the alliance partner team. To support this project, we have established a dedicated Microsoft 365 and Azure environment managed through a specialist service provider.

As the Senior Advisor Alliance Technology, you will take the reins from the implementation phase and become the enduring interface between Sunwater, the alliance partners, and the managed service provider.

This is more than a support role – it’s a trusted advisor and coordination point that ensures technology services in the alliance environment are fit-for-purpose, secure, and aligned with Sunwater’s enterprise ICT standards. You’ll help maintain an excellent customer experience, lead change and incident management processes, and drive vendor performance. In addition, you will:-

  • Support onboarding, transition and ongoing engagement with delivery partners.
  • Guide the implementation of change management, security, and service management practices.
  • Monitor and uplift service performance across Microsoft 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, printing, and meeting room technologies.
  • Ensure alignment with ICT governance and contractor management obligations.
  • Translate operational needs into technical requirements, managing small projects and improvements.

We are seeking 5+ years experience in ICT infrastructure or service delivery role experience and experience coordinating technology services across vendors or alliance-style project environments.  You will have strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure cloud, virtual desktop infrastructure (AVD or Citrix), and cloud security tools like Conditional Access and Entra ID.  In addition you will have familiarity with ITIL practices and information security standards (ASD Essential Eight or ISO27001).  You will have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business, or equivalent experience and:-

  • Strong Stakeholder Management – A collaborative, customer-focused mindset with excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical Thinking – The ability to translate business and alliance needs into practical ICT requirements and solutions.
  • Influential - Demonstrated ability to influence, engage, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

This is a fixed term 24-month opportunity, based at our Fortitude Valley office (with some travel to our regional areas). At Sunwater, we have a genuine emphasis on work/life balance and to ensure you are well-rewarded for your dedication and hard work, this role offers an attractive salary, plus 12.75% superannuation and 17% leave loading.

Water - Imagine a career where your work truly matters, where you are part of a team that values you and your contributions. At Sunwater, you will bring life’s most essential resource to over 5,000 agriculture, urban and industrial customers, helping to sustain communities and drive water for prosperity across regional Queensland. We share the values of these communities — starting with caring about our people. Engage in fascinating work that is constantly evolving, allowing you to grow and shape a successful career and develop unique skills and experience in an industry brimming with opportunity.

Life - At Sunwater, we believe our employees are our greatest asset, and we are committed to providing the support, resources, and benefits that you need to thrive. That's why we offer a range of attractive benefits designed to help you bring your best every day, including:

  • My benefits: Access employee benefits and discounts hosted by Reward Gateway
  • My wellbeing: Prioritise your wellbeing with our comprehensive health and wellness offerings and programs
  • My time: Enjoy flexible working arrangements and the ability to purchase up to 4 additional weeks of leave, ensuring you can tailor your work to fit your lifestyle
  • My growth: We prioritise your professional growth with career development programs, study assistance, support for professional memberships, and structured early career pathways to help you build a rewarding and successful career
