In this pivotal role, you'll assist in enhancing Sunwater’s health and wellbeing culture by driving continuous improvement across organisational practices. Your focus will be twofold: providing compassionate, expert support to employees navigating injury and return-to-work pathways, while proactively reducing risk through strategic, targeted health and wellbeing initiatives. In addition, you will:
- Work closely with senior managers and business stakeholders; providing advice, management support and clear direction to facilitate achievement of specific workers’ compensation and post-injury management strategies
- Manage service provider contracts and delivery support / responses associated with outsourced health and injury management services
- Manager workers’ compensation reporting and governance processes, including the analysis of incident and injury data
- Manage a system of health assessments and pre work risk and capability assessments, in a cost effective and robust manner.
We're on the lookout for a passionate Health and Safety professional with 5+ years’ experience, a relevant degree (OHS, allied health, nursing), and accreditation in rehab and return-to-work. Your expertise in mental health case management and deep understanding of OHS legislation, WorkCover, and Workers’ Compensation will be key to driving impactful change. In addition, you will have the following skills:-
- Interpersonal Skills – Exceptional ability to listen, negotiate, and influence with empathy and clarity, fostering positive outcomes for both employees and the organisation.
- Collaborative – Skilled at building strong, effective partnerships with medical professionals, allied health teams, and contractors to drive positive occupational health outcomes through shared expertise and teamwork.
- Organised – Proven ability to design, deliver, and assess health and wellbeing initiatives with precision and purpose, ensuring programs are impactful and aligned with organisational goals.
This is a 12-month fixed term opportunity (for an immediate start), based at our Fortitude Valley office.
