  • Monitor accuracy of portfolio, program, project financial information in line with approved budgets and forecasts including cost and forecasting variances, upcoming budget requirements and required change requests to provide insights to drive financial performance.
  • Monitor vendor invoicing, purchase orders, and contract expenditures across the portfolio, ensuring that all transactions are compliant with relevant procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintain and continuously improve key cost controls and procedures including forecasting accuracy, estimate to complete (ETC) and estimate at completion (EAC) analysis along with the portfolio’s cost model used for project estimations.
  • Prepare PMO financial reporting by consolidating and communicating budget and forecast changes, monitoring financial thresholds, and conducting monthly, quarterly and annual governance activities to ensure transparency and enable successful portfolio, program, and project delivery.
  • Act as the central coordination point for the monthly Portfolio Committee pack, ensuring timely collation, review, and distribution of financial insights, reporting inputs, and supporting documentation.

We are seeking an experienced professional with at least 5 to 7 years’ experience in a similar role, with a degree in accounting or business (or equivalent experience), coupled with demonstrated experience in Project/Portfolio Financial Controls across a large portfolio, program or projects.  In addition, you will have:

  • Strong Communication Skills – Demonstrated experience preparing reporting for executive-level audiences.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset – Continuously improve management dashboards and reports to provide clear, objective insights into actual progress versus forecast—enabling timely, data-driven decisions that support successful delivery.
  • Proactive - Proactively review and challenge financial cost models throughout the project lifecycle.

This role offers an array of attractive benefits including a competitive base salary, 12.75% superannuation, access to banked time and TOIL, 17.5% leave loading and a genuine emphasis on work/life balance.
