Work. Step into a high-impact 12-month opportunity (available for an immediate start) as an Internal Auditor, covering maternity leave, and help shape the success of our internal audit program. You'll play a key role in strengthening governance and risk assurance, working closely with senior leaders and the Audit & Risk Committee to drive meaningful outcomes.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to audit initiatives that strengthen operational integrity and risk management across the organization. You'll deliver clear, targeted reports that identify key issues, analyse root causes, assess their impact on Sunwater, and outline agreed management actions to drive resolution - ideal for professionals dedicated to enhancing governance and compliance in a dynamic corporate setting. In addition you will:-
- Conduct independent internal audits as per the approved Internal Audit Plan, Charter and Procedure.
- Monitor and report on the internal audit actions to ensure timely completion.
- Support the Internal Audit Manager in managing co-source providers, reviewing scopes, and coordinating draft reports.
- Support the Internal Audit Manager in preparing the papers for the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), Audit and Risk Committee and Project Investment Committee.
- Support the enhancement of internal audit procedures, templates and bring in efficiencies with regular use of data analytics in all internal audits.
- Provide advice on investigations and general duties as required by the internal audit function.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a minimum of five years’ practical experience in internal audit or a closely related field. You’ll hold a tertiary qualification in internal auditing or a relevant discipline, with proven ability to interpret legislative and regulatory frameworks and translate them into effective, commercially sound solutions. Experience applying risk-based audit methodologies across diverse business areas is essential. CA or CPA qualifications and membership with the Institute of Internal Auditors Australia are highly regarded.
This role, available for an immediate start, offers an array of attractive benefits including base salary starting from $126,113.78 per annum, 12.75% superannuation, access to banked time and TOIL, 17.5% leave loading and a genuine emphasis on work/life balance.
