Portfolio Analyst

Work. Are you analytical, organised and motivated by the bigger picture? Join Sunwater as a Portfolio Analyst, where you’ll play a key role in supporting the planning, analysis and delivery of projects and programs that strengthen the performance of our Asset Management Improvement Program (AMIP). 

As part of the Asset Management team, you’ll work closely with project teams, program managers and senior leaders—turning data into insights that support confident decision-making and strong governance. Your work will help track progress, manage costs and benefits, and ensure initiatives under the Asset Management Improvement Program (AMIP) deliver real outcomes.

As a Portfolio Analyst at Sunwater, you will:

  • Support detailed planning, analysis and reporting across projects, programs and portfolios, including preparing inputs for senior leadership and governance forums.
  • Collect, analyse and maintain portfolio data to produce accurate reports, dashboards and insights aligned with governance cycles.
  • Provide analytical support and advice to project teams, program managers and stakeholders across AMIP.
  • Analyse changes to scope, costs and benefits, assessing impacts on portfolio performance including productivity, cost and safety outcomes.
  • Support strong financial governance, including benefits identification, tracking and reporting.
  • Monitor program and portfolio costs, assisting with forecasts, cost models, accruals and end‑of‑month actuals.
  • Support procurement activities by requisitioning and monitoring goods and services.
  • Provide analysis and assurance for Planned Corrective Maintenance (PCM) cost uplift activities.

About you:
You’ll bring strong analytical capability, attention to detail and a collaborative mindset. You will have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar portfolio, program or analytical role
  • Experience working within a program or portfolio management office
  • Confidence using financial systems, including SAP
  • Business Analyst or P3M certification (or working towards it).
  • The ability to turn complex information into clear, actionable insights.

This 2-year fixed term opportunity offers a competitive base salary, 12.75% superannuation, access to banked time and TOIL, 17.5% leave loading, and a genuine emphasis on work/life balance.
