As part of our Water Resources team, you'll play an important role in supporting water security outcomes across the state. Working alongside engineers, scientists and operational teams, you'll help monitor compliance, analyse water data and support the delivery of critical reporting that underpins water management decisions. Whether you're reviewing compliance information, preparing reports for regulators or coordinating responses to technical queries, your work will have a direct impact on how water resources are managed across Queensland.

As a Water Security & Policy Officer at Sunwater, you will:

• Support operational teams to identify, understand and meet Resource Operations Licence (ROL) compliance requirements.
• Process, analyse, quality check and report compliance data on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Prepare notifications, reports and correspondence for regulators, helping ensure compliance obligations are met.
• Coordinate responses to complex operational and compliance enquiries, engaging with engineers and environmental specialists where required.  
• Support the development and delivery of training relating to ROL compliance, operational manuals and Bureau of Meteorology reporting requirements.
• Contribute technical advice and insights that support sustainable water management outcomes.

About you:

You'll be a proactive and analytical professional who enjoys working with data, policy and stakeholders to solve problems and improve outcomes. You’ll bring:

• 2+ years' experience in a similar role.  
• A degree in Engineering, Science, Law or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills with excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to interpret technical information and communicate it clearly.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

This two-year fixed term position offers a competitive salary, 12.75% superannuation, access to banked time, 17.5% leave loading and a genuine commitment to work/life balance.
