Join Sunwater as a Senior Water Resources Engineer where you’ll play a vital role in providing support for hydrological and hydraulic modelling with a focus on customers (water delivery) and downstream communities (flood and drought impacts). This role will develop capability around water delivery and hydrological modelling whilst bolstering the current operational team during severe weather events.
As a Senior Water Resources Engineer at Sunwater, you will:
- Providing expert advice on technical recommendations, standards and strategies and take a lead in the in the provision of hydrological modelling for improved and efficient water
- Monitor, report, plan and deliver hydrological/hydraulic information within a robust risk management and assurance framework that is in accordance with regulatory requirements and takes account of the expectations of stakeholders.
- Assist the organisation in optimised water delivery and drought management strategies, operational and critical water sharing rules, and water delivery through hydrologic analysis.
We are seeking a talented individual with a track record in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling concepts and principles related to the management of low or high flows. You will hold tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineer or a relatable Engineering field, and ideally have experience in drought management strategies, operational and critical water sharing rules. You will also bring:
- Modelling expertise: Experience in IQQM/ eWater Source modelling and flood modelling using software such as TUFLOW and URBs
- Strategic vision: Ability to design and deliver project, program, portfolio improvement strategies and programs
- Communication skills: Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives.
