Are you passionate about GIS and major infrastructure delivery? Join Sunwater as a Spatial Analyst, where you’ll play a key role in enabling the successful delivery of major capital projects by providing high‑quality spatial data, governance and assurance. You will support the implementation of Sunwater’s GIS strategy across major programs of work, ensuring spatial information is accurate, trusted and fit for project and asset lifecycle decision‑making.
You will work closely with project teams, engineers and digital specialists to review, verify and integrate spatial data, supporting planning, design, construction and handover activities for major water infrastructure projects.
As a Spatial Analyst at Sunwater, you will:
- Maintain and enhance enterprise GIS datasets to support major project planning, design and delivery, including updates, edits and quality assurance.
- Provide spatial data governance and assurance for major projects, reviewing contractor‑supplied and consultant spatial data for accuracy, consistency and compliance with standards.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of GIS data governance frameworks, standards and data strategy, with a strong focus on capital project delivery and asset handover.
- Support integration of GIS with digital engineering initiatives, including BIM enablement and alignment of spatial data across the project and asset lifecycle.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers and delivery partners to ensure spatial data effectively supports project outcomes and Sunwater’s broader digital strategy objectives.
We are seeking a professional individual with a proven track record in GIS, with experience in Survey123 and Field Maps, survey platform creation and maintenance, and portal management. You will have a strong capability in field data collection system, survey workflow design and maintenance, and enterprise portal management and hold tertiary qualifications in GIS, software development, data science or a related field.
- GIS experience: demonstrated experience with spatial, survey and geographical concepts and data
- Strategic vision: Ability to design and deliver project, program, portfolio improvement strategies and programs
- Communication skills: Excellent communication skills with a knack for writing and presenting quality reports and findings to leadership and project directors.
This role is a 2-year contract position and offers an array of attractive benefits including:
- Base salary starting from $113,214.37
- 12.75% superannuation
