Work. Ready for a role where no two days are the same — and your work actually keeps communities running? Join Sunwater as an Electrician and help power and maintain essential water infrastructure across Emerald and the surrounding Central Queensland region.

In this hands‑on role, you’ll be out in the field and on site, keeping systems running smoothly, solving problems as they arise and supporting critical water operations. You’ll work across a diverse asset base—from key schemes to more remote locations—playing a vital role in keeping water flowing where it’s needed most.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Maintaining and repairing electrical assets across the network, including low and high voltage equipment.
  • Supporting water distribution operations and helping ensure reliable service delivery.
  • Diagnosing faults, troubleshooting issues and restoring systems quickly.
  • Delivering preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance.
  • Supporting non‑routine electrical works and contractor management.
  • Monitoring asset condition and performance to identify potential issues early.

You’ll spend time travelling across the region, giving you variety in your work and exposure to a wide range of assets and locations. The role includes a 1 in 4 on‑call roster, so flexibility is important.

What you bring:

  • QLD Electrical Work Licence.
  • Experience working with instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA, solar and communication systems.
  • HV switching capability (or willingness to obtain).
  • Confined space, working at heights and EWP competencies (or willingness to obtain).

This role offers a strong package including competitive salary + on‑call allowance, 12.75% super, TOIL, 17.5% leave loading and a genuine focus on work/life balance.
