Reporting to the Supervisor – Operations, the Senior Storage Operator is responsible for undertaking operational and maintenance activities to ensure efficient and delivery of services for the business in our South Region. You will undertake complex fault analysis of operational and maintenance issues and provide solutions whilst identifying potential risks and mitigations
Other responsibilities include:
- Maintaining surveillance of water supply infrastructure
- Performing routine dam and flood surveillance, associated reporting and response to emergency/ breakdowns, including complex fault analysis, to ensure supply interruptions are minimised
- Scheduling, releasing, controlling measuring and monitoring water distribution through a variety of natural waterways and man-made water delivery infrastructure
- Operating and maintaining water treatment including maintenance of records and logs to meet required standards
- Supporting and assisting under in emergency response or flood operations
- Participating in customer interactions and have an understanding of appropriate escalation channels
Please note due to the nature of this role, there will be a 1 in 2 on-call roster.
Sunwater are seeking individuals with experience in a similar role with at least 5 years’ experience in the water industry. You will also have sound knowledge of a range of computer applications, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn to use SAP-PM (database).
Other skills include:
- Experience in civil construction, minor mechanical and/or electrical maintenance (in line with qualifications held) for a broad range of infrastructure assets, preferably with experience in the water industry or similar
- Experience supervising and managing teams
- Possession of a relevant trade certificate would be highly regarded
- Certificate III in Water Treatment or the ability and intent to achieve within a negotiated timeframe
