Join Sunwater as a Senior Spatial Analyst, where you’ll play a key role in enabling the successful delivery of major capital projects by providing high‑quality spatial data, governance and assurance. You will support the implementation of Sunwater’s GIS strategy across major programs of work, ensuring spatial information is accurate, trusted and fit for project and asset lifecycle decision‑making.
You will work closely with project teams, engineers and digital specialists to review, verify and integrate spatial data, supporting planning, design, construction and handover activities for major water infrastructure projects.
As a Senior Spatial Analyst at Sunwater, you will:
- Lead the spatial analysis activities on large, complex or high risk projects.
- Provide advanced technical input into the review and verification of spatial data provided by contractors for accuracy and consistency.
- Ensure the integration of GIS with digital engineering initiatives, including BIM enablement and alignment of spatial data across the project and asset lifecycle.
- Lead the development and implementation of GIS data governance frameworks, standards and data strategy, for capital project delivery and asset handover.
- Partner with project managers, engineers and delivery partners to ensure spatial data effectively supports project outcomes and Sunwater’s broader digital strategy objectives.
We are seeking a talented individual with a proven track record in spatial, survey and geographical concepts and data. You will hold tertiary qualifications in GIS, Software Development, Data Science or related field, and have 7+ years’ experience in a similar role. You will also bring:
- GIS Expertise: Experience in designing, implementing and maintaining ArcGIS platforms
- Strategic vision: Ability to design and deliver projects following project requirements and providing GIS initiatives and improvements.
- Communication skills: Excellent communication skills with a knack for writing and presenting quality reports and findings to senior leadership and project teams.
This role is a fixed term contract position until December 2028. This role offers an array of attractive benefits including:
